Senior Systems Engineer, AOL — 2004-Present
Responsible for the day to day operations of over 1000 systems. Provided standardization and documentation for new projects. Designed and implemented command and control software for monitoring and support. Subject matter expert on the Egenera Bladeframe platform. Designed and developed java based software to assist with day to day operational tasks. Supported a large SAP cluster, as well as several real-time systems. Supported a large web farm that was using Tomcat and Weblogic, as well as, Apache and Netscape Server. Supported the SOX and PCI bi-annual audits. Designed and implemented virtualization through VMware, XEN, and the Egenera Bladeframe platform.

Senior Systems Engineer, Capital One — 1999-2004
Responsible for supporting both the US and UK Internet deployments from their inception. Supported 800 Servers, managing infrastructure related development and implementing procedures to automate and reduce overhead. Served in the UK for 8 months, living there to create Capital One’s Internet presence and creating infrastructure that continues to support them today. Assisted the Audit process of SOX providing both initial information for the audit team, and then creating technologies to solve the deficient areas.

Senior Systems Administrator, Metro Information Systems — 1998-1999
Contractor to Capital One supporting the AXIS project which was to replace a MVS system used to handle all credit card billing. Responsible for the source code management using PVCS and wrote many custom build and promotion tools. Acted as the liaison between the AXIS project and the Open Systems team which at the time supported the hosts used in the project. This project was the single largest project undertaken at Capital One at the time and was going to be foundational to the future of the company.

Lead Programmer, Trader Publishing Inc. — 1997-1998
Responsible for the development and maintenance of the software to support the line of “Trader” websites, including the popular AutoTrader.com. This involved using Webspeed and the progress database. Supported the UNIX systems that these websites ran on. Responsible to assist other programmers with learning the 4GL Webspeed language. Supported the programmers UNIX machines as well as build process.

Systems Administrator, Air Systems International — 1991-1997
Responsible for the support and maintenance of employee Windows desktops as well as the System V UNIX server that supported the billing and operations of the entire company. Created and supported the network used across the entire company, as well as designed and implemented the companies first dynamic website.
